The Museum Collection
For my handbag brand, MOYA London, I constantly collect ideas and inspire my clients proactively with new concepts, illustrated through sketches and digital visualisations. Here I showcase some of my latest thoughts - a collection inspired by the mythical atmosphere in museums.
Design 1:
Ancient Astronomy
Inspired by a Chinese celestial globe from the Tsing Dynasty, this is a black leather shoulder bag with pearl-embedded brass plates. The embellishments resemble broken artefacts, as if just uncovered from an archeology field moments ago.
Features:
-
Black Nappa Leather
-
Adjustable leather straps to carry 2 ways
-
Custom made hardware with brass and pearls
-
Flap opening with magnetic snap closure
-
Standard interior (zip pocket and card holder)
Design 2:
The Spiral
From artefacts of the far East to Ionic columns in Europe, the spiral is one of those universal patterns endorsed by many cultures. In this creative clutch bag, I took a contemporary spin on the ancient pattern, adding puff texture. An alternative pearl-embellished version was provided. The visualisation was created with AI based on hand sketch.
Features:
-
Black Nappa leather with puff design
-
Hidden zip and magnetic fastening to secure shape
-
Optional chain for cross-body wear
Design 3:
The Phoenix
The ancient Chinese myth bird, the Phoenix, is often used on the belongings of Empresses in history, representing females in power. This is combined with a surrealism take, giving artistic and antique vibes. This couture handbag is designed for special occasions and formal parties.
Features:
-
A top handle flap bag with ruched lamb leather
-
Custom made hardware with antique gold brass
-
A Baroque pearl
-
Cord top handle wrapped in lamb leather
-
Magnetic snap closure
